Author Adam Niswander Dies

Many of his Facebook friends are reporting the death of author Adam Niswander on 12 August 2012. Born in Flushing, New York, on 2 February 1946, he had been in hospice care since late March.

After graduating from high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he played French Horn in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami Symphony Orchestras. He served in the US Navy in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970, and then worked as an actor until 1976. He moved to Arizona in 1977, and opened Adam’s Bookstore (a used and rare specialty store) in 1984. A few years ago, he founded MythosCon.

As an author, he wrote sf, fantasy, horror, mystery, thriller, and young adult tales. He was the author of The Shaman Cycle (The Charm, The Serpent Slayers, The Hound Hunters, and The War of the Whisperers) and the non-shaman novels The Sand Dwellers and The Repository. His short fiction appeared in a range of anthologies and magazines.
