KingCon to be Brooklyn's own comic convention, this weekend

By Ian Randal Strock

Perhaps a bit late, but we've just been informed that the Brooklyn Lyceum is hosting Brooklyn, New York's own KingCon comic and animation convention this weekend (for you non-New Yorkers, the borough of Brooklyn is Kings County). KingCon will have an exhibit floor with publishers, artists, comic creators, and other exhibitors, as well as two full days of panels and workshops. Featured guests include Denny O'Neil, Al Jaffee, Jonathan Ames, Harvey Pekar, and Brian Wood. The full list of guests is on this page.

Admission is $7 per day, or $10 for both days. The Brooklyn Lyceum, locoated at 227 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215 (718-857-4816) started life about a century ago as a public bath house. Now it's a gym/theatre/cafe/event space.
