Author Aaron Allstron suffers heart attack

By Ian Randal Strock

Writer and rpg designer Aaron Allston suffered a heart attack last week in Dallas, Texas, while returning home from a signing tour. He's already had bypass surgery, and is recovering in the ICU.

Allston had been siging his newest Star Wars book, Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Outcast, throughout the southwest US. The tour was to wrap up with an appearance on 4 April in Austin, near Allston's Texas home. He is the author of a number of Star Wars and Terminator 3 novels, as well as originals. In 2005, he was inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Hall of Fame.

Minutes after posting the above, we were informed that there is a LiveJournal community, aaronallston.info, which is updating his condition regularly, and has a full time-line of what happened when. In addition, there is information for potential blood donors, both to offset the blood Allston needs and for general humanitarian reasons. See that page for regular updates.
