Actor/musician Andy Hallett dies

By Kit Hawkins

Actor and musician Andy Hallett died 29 March 2009 of heart failure. Born Andrew Alcott Hallettt on 4 August 1975 on Cape Cod, in Osterville, Massachusetts, he had been battling heart disease for the past five years, and had been hospitalized several times for the condition.

Hallett was best known for his role as the singing demon Lorne on the television series Angel (2000-2004). After the series ended, he concentrated more on his music writing and singing career (he performed two songs—"Lady Marmalade" and "It's Not Easy Being Green"—on the Angel: Live Fast, Die Never soundtrack, which was released in 2005). He also had a voice role in 2005's Geppetto's Secret, and appeared in one episode of the Angel progenitor series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in 1999.

This is such sad news. I really loved hearing him sing on Angel.
