29th Annual Razzy Award Winners

By Kit Hawkins

The winners if the 29th annual Golden Raspberry Awards, popularly known as the Razzies, were announced Saturday 21 February at Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood, California. The Razzies are "a logical antidote to Tinsel Town's annual glut of self-congratulations [created] by John Wilson, author of Everything I Know I Learned at the Movies." As is traditional, the awards were announced one day before the Oscar Awards (see our next article).

This year, sf/f/h films did remarkably well, taking home only four Razzies. Our genre "winners" were:

Paris Hilton: Worst Supporting Actress in Repo: The Genetic Opera.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Worst Prequel, Remake, Rep-off, or Sequel

Uwe Boll: Worst Director for In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Postal

Boll also won the Worst Career Achievement award.

Unlike last year, when one film (I Know Who Killed Me) took home eight Razzies, the awards were spread around this year. The two films that took home the most tied with three each: The Love Guru and The Hottie & the Nottie.

We listed all the genre nominees in this article. The full list of this year's winner is available on this page.
