By Ian Randal Strock

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 5-11 December 2008. The top two films didn't move this week, with Four Christmases still at #1 and Twilight still at #2. The Stephenie Meyer-based vampire flick took in $16.7 million, for a three-week total of $142.1 million. Quantum of Solace dropped from #4 to #5, earning another $9.0 million, for a four-tweek total of $153.9 million. Punisher: War Zone was the top of the new releases, opening at #8 with a box office take of $5.6 million.

The Dark Knight fell from #19 to #21, grossing $250 thousand, for a twenty-one-week total of $530.6 million. And The Polar Express returned to the top 25 (well, it is the Christmas season) at #24, earning another $225 thousand, for a (get this) two hundred and thirteen-week total of $179.6 million.
