Juno Books offering free ghost-story anthology

By Ian Randal Strock

Juno Books is offering a free anthology of classic ghost stories for Halloween. The 117-page pdf file, available at this link contains: "Let Loose" by Mary Cholmondeley (first published in 1890); "The Striding-Place" by Gertrude Atherton (1896); "The Lost Ghost" by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman (1903); "Kerfol" by Edith Wharton (1916); and "Spunk" by Zora Neale Hurston (1925).

Publisher Paula Guran also writes that Juno is still closed to submissions. "There's a good reason for this. Really. I just can't say what that reason is yet. It's Halloween—we're being mysterious." But she does note that Carole Nelson Douglas's Brimstone Kiss is now available everywhere (with the e-book expected to appear on Fictionwise on 1 November), and that Maria Lima's The Matters of the Blood is now available in mass market paperback.
