Michael Chabon to speak at University of Kansas

By Ian Randal Strock

Michael Chabon, author of this year's Nebula Award-winning novel The Yiddish Policemen's Union (which is currently a nominee for the Hugo, too), will be speaking at the University of Kansas's Hall Center for the Humanities on "Conquering the Wilderness: Imaginative Imperialism and the Invasion of Legoland" on Monday 27 October at 7:30PM. The lecture is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Sosland Foundation of Kansas City.

Chabon is also the author of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2001.

The Hall Center is located at 900 Sunnyside Avenue, Lawrence, Kansas 66045. For more information, call 785-864-4798, or see this page.
