Apex Publications' Annual Halloween Short Story Contest

In honor of the upcoming US presidential election, Apex Publications is offering its Annual Halloween Short Fiction Contest, this year titled "Election Horror." The contest will be guest-judged by Jay Lake.

The contest is open to "flash fiction" (stories under 1000 words) based on this year's theme of "Election Horror." Deadline is 11:59PM EST on 15 October 2008. First prize is publication at 10 cents a word; second prize is publication at 5 cents a word. Third and fourth prizes are books from Apex Book Company.
