Write a story; read it at Sundance Bookstore's Sci-Fi Night

By Ian Randal Strock

Sundance Bookstore, in conjunction with an upcoming science fiction reading, is running a "Sci-Fi Contest". Local authors are invited to submit short science fiction stories (and by short, they mean "less than five minutes in length when read aloud") by 25 June. Their "favorites will be posted on the Sundance website for the summer, and the lucky winner will get a chance to read their work on Sci-Fi Night." Full entry details are available on this page.

Sci-Fi Night, which starts at 6:30PM on 2 July, will feature the winner reading his story, and a reading and signing by local authors Willis Couvillier, Susan Palwick, and several as-yet-unnamed authors. They'll be reading from and signing their own works, as well as three new Hadley Rille anthologies: Ruins: Metropolis, Barren Worlds, and Desolate Places.

Sundance Bookstore is located at 1155 West Fourth Street, #106, Reno, Nevada 89503. For more information, see the store's web site or phone them at 775-786-1188.
