Toronto Public Library presents "Speculative Fiction in Canada" discussion series

Edward Willett reports that the Toronto Public Library's Canada Council Heritage Series will be presenting "Foresight: Speculative Fiction in Canada." The series of 20 events spread across all the branches of the library will run from 21 April to 29 May.

They describe the overall program briefly: "Artificial Intelligence, biotechnology, climate change: if the future is now, what comes next? Join some of Canada's best science fiction and fantasy authors at Toronto Public Library for readings and discussions this spring."

Participants in one or more of the events include: Kelly Armstrong, Alison Baird, Julie E. Czerneda, Willow Dawson, Cory Doctorow, Candas Jane Dorsey, Dave Duncan, Kristyn Dunnion, James Alan Gardner, Sèphera Girón, Phyllis Gotlieb, Terence Green, Paul Hong, Nalo Hopkinson, Paula Johanson, Sandra Kasturi, Guy Gavriel Kay, Jim Munroe, Emily Pohl-Weary, Brett Savory, Karl Schroeder, Michael Skeet, Jean-Louis Trudel, Peter Watts, and Edward Willett.
