Top Box Office Grossers: Third Week of April

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 18-24 April 2008. New release The Forbidden Kingdom topped the charts, grossing $27.0 million dollars. Prom Night dropped from #1 to #3, taking in nearly $10.3 million for a two-week total of $33.7 million. Nim's Island dropped from #4 to #6, grossing $7.2 million this week for a three-week total of $34.4 million. Horton Hears a Who dropped from #6 to #8, taking in $4.6 million, for a six-week total of $145.5 million.

Superhero Movie is down from #9 to #12, bringing in $2.0 million for a four-week total of $24.0 million. The Ruins dropped faster, down from #8 to #13, with a box office take of $1.6 million, for a three-week total of $16.3 million. 10,000 B.C. is still around, down from #11 to #16 in its seventh week in release, garnering more than $800 thousand for a total of $93.0 million. Shutter dropped from #15 to #25, grossing nearly $350 thousand, for a five-week total of $25.5 million.
