Top Box Office Grossers: Fifth Week of March

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 28 March-3 April 2008. Horton Hears a Who dropped from #1 to #2, trailing new release 21. Horton took in $22.1 million, for a three-week total of $122.0 million. New release Superhero Movie opened at #3, bringing in $11.5 million. Shutter dropped from #4 to #6, grossing $6.5 million, for a two-week total of $20.3 million. 10,000 B.C. was down from #5 to #7, garnering $6.5 million, for a four-week total of $86.6 million.

The Spiderwick Chronicles was down from #14 to #17, taking in $1.0 million for a seven-week box office take of $69.7 million. Doomsday dropped faster, from #11 to #18, earning $800 thousand for a three-week total of $10.8 million. Jumper is down from #17 to #21, grossing $600 thousand for a seven-week total box office take of $78.6 million.
