Lee and Miller update Saltation and Fledgling projects

By Ian Randal Strock

Sharon Lee and Steve Miller announce that they'll be upgrading the web site for their Saltation over the weekend, which will result in no new chapter being posted on 14 April. In addition, they're capping the number of subscriptioins they'll acceept for the trade paperback edition of Saltation (after it appears in full on line) at 1,000 books, announcing "there's a good reason why we're doing this, but we can't tell you what it is right now. Soon. No, really."

For more information on the Saltation on-line subscription project, see these articles from January and February.

And regarding their previously serialized novel, Fledgling, they ask that "If you were one of the many people who kindly donated $50 or more to the project and you expected to receive more than one book, please write to Sharon at fledgling at korval dot com and tell her this. The default for donations is one book. If you do write to Sharon, please include: (1) The name(s) you sent your payment under (really, we have no way of knowing that Anwar Morningstar is Sara Jones unless you tell us), (2) a copy of your PayPal receipt, if any, or the date and number of your check/money order. If you have moved since you ordered, please tell us that, too." And they fetchingly beg "Please, please, please, for the love of Ghu don't write and ask if you donated more than $50; there are 1200! (egad!) orders in the Fledgling database and Sharon really doesn't have time to look up every single one. Thanks very much for your help in this."
