Heroes creator sells alternate history trilogy

By Ian Randal Strock

Tim Kring sold The Flag of Orpheus trilogy, his first books, to Crown for $3 million via agent Richard Abate of Endeavor Literary Agency. Novelist Dale Peck will co-write the alternate history thriller, "about the abuses of power and moral obligation to resist it." The series will revolve "around key turning points in the late 20th century, including the early 1960s drug culture." Kring is the creator of the tv series Heroes and Crossing Jordan, and has written for Strange World, Teen Wolf Too, Misfits of Science, and Knight Rider.

The first book in the series, Shift, is scheduled for publication in Fall 2009. Each installment will be launched with an alternate reality game as part of the online marketing push.
