Hungry tells of aliens looking to eat people, in a lighthearted way

New author Alethea Eason writes that her debut young-adult science fiction novel, Hungry has just been published by HarperCollins Eos. Of the story, she says "Hungry is the light-hearted, satirical tale of an alien family sent by their race to scout out Earth and its inhabitants as a new source of food, and of their daughter, Deborah, who not only has a crush on a human named Willy, but would rather eat M&Ms anyway."

Bruce McAllister calls the book "one of the funniest—and probably the most charming—alien invasion tale this field has seen. Its spunky (and all-too-human) heroine is irresistible."

Eason's short fiction has appeared in several anthologies and Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine. She is completing Starved, the second book in the planned trilogy.
