Heinlein Centennial Short Story Contest

By Ian Randal Strock

The Heinlein Society has finally announced the details of their previously announced Robert A. Heinlein Centennial Short Story Contest. They'll give three prizes for "the best original short stories reflecting the spirit, ideas, and philosophies of Robert Anson Heinlein: $5,000, $2,000, and $1,000."

The deadline for entries, which must not exceed 15,000 words, is 31 May 2008. Stories will be judged in terms of general literary quality and "reflecting the spirit, ideas, and philosophies contained in the works of Robert A. Heinlein." Submissions must be in English, original (not using Heinlein's characters or universe), and unpublished. Winners and other entrants may be published in an anthology.

Entry requirements and other information is available on this page.
