Joshua Bilmes makes foreign rights sales in Romania, Spain, and Taiwan

By Ian Randal Strock

Joshua Bilmes at JABberwocky made several foreign rights sales recently.

Brandon Sanderson's Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages—the second and third volumes in the Mistborn saga—sold to Ediciones B in Spain. Sanderson's Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians sold to Corint in Romania.

Bilmes sold Chinese rights (complex) to Simon Green's Shadow's Fall and Blue Moon Rising to Gaea. For those who, like this editor, don't understand the term "Chinese rights (complex)," Bilmes told us "Taiwan and Mainland [China] are separate markets. Taiwan uses complex Chinese characters, Mainland uses a simplified character set, and it's possible to sell books separately for both the complex and simflified."
