Delirium Books looking for short-short horror stories

By Ian Randal Strock

Delirium Books reports that it is now reading flash fiction for its upcoming Horror D'oeuvres to be subtitled "Bite-sized Horrors."

Editor Shane Ryan Staley reports that "with the increasing popularity of its HC chapbook line, Delirium Books is now taking submissions for [this] new hardcover chapbook anthology series. The fiction in this series will consist of original flash fiction (short-shorts) that serve as an appetizer for horror readers, a small bite of horror served between bigger reads. These Horror D’oeuvres will first appear online at The Delirium Insider and then be printed as a mass market-sized (4.5 x 6.25 inch) side-sewn hardcover with graphic wraparound cover."

He's looking for original fiction only, no longer than 750 words. "All types of horror will be accepted. Do not submit fiction from any other genre. No poetry. No prose that is formatted like poetry."

Payment will be five cents per word upon publication. All submissions must be electronic.

For more information, including submission address, read the guidelines on this page.
