F&SF Posts On-Line Story Tie-In To Current Issue

By Ian Randal Strock

The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction is trying an experiment in web publishing. They currently have available, for free, on their web site, Chris Willrich's story "The Thief with Two Deaths," which appeared in the June 2000 issue of the magazine. The story is the first "to feature Persimmon Gaunt and Imago Bone," and is posted as a tie-in to Willrich's "A Wizard of the Old School," which appears in the August 2007 issue of the print magazine. The story is available at this link, but will be there for one month only. Editor Gordon Van Gelder is looking for feedback, so if readers think it's a good idea, they should let him or Associate Editor John Joseph Adams know.

They also note that "fans of Gaunt and Bone can also find 'King Rainjoy's Tears' in our anthology of heroic and high fantasy stories, In Lands That Never Were.
