George R.R. Martin will be doing a reading and a question-and-answer session in Second Life on 31 May at 6PM PDT at the Bantam Dell Book Shop & Cafe. He'll read a story from the forthcoming compendium, Dreamsongs: Volume I: Short Works, which Spectra will be publishing at the end of October. Then he'll take questions from readers throughout Second Life.
To make it a truly interactive event, Spectra is asking readers to "Vote For George's Avatar Look." Martin will appear as one of the characters from his A Song of Ice and Fire novels, and readers get to choose which: Tyrion Lannister, Ned Stark, or Robert Baratheon. They're taking votes on this page until 15 May.
