Whitley Streiber's Forthcoming 2012 optioned by Hollywood

Whitley Strieber has optioned his forthcoming novel, 2012: The War for Souls to Warner Brothers for film adaptation. Michael Bay is expected to direct, with Alex Kurtzmann and Robert Orci writing the screenplay. 2012 will be published by Tor in September 2007.

2012 revisits the issues that Strieber first explored in The Grays (which Tor will be releasing as a mass market paperback at the end of May). "The Grays drew upon Strieber's lifetime of research and his own experiences, exploring the conspiracy behind alien presence on Earth, while also giving the reader a startling look inside the alien mind. In 2012, another alien species has come to Earth and only teenager Connor Callahan and the last remaining Grays can save humanity from a harrowing fate, and quite possibly, the end of days, as predicted by the Mayans."
