Tanya Huff's Blood Books move to television

By Ian Randal Strock

Tanya Huff's "Blood Books" series will premiere on Lifetime as the series Blood Ties on Sunday 11 March at 9PM. There is a 30-second teaser ad available now on the web at www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf81_1p0Hb4. The series will also be appearing on CHUM Television in Canada.

Agent Joshua Bilmes, of the JABberwocky Literary Agency, notes that the books -- Blood Price, Blood Trail, Blood Lines, Blood Pact, and Blood Debt -- have been continually in print, and were recently reissued in three omnibus volumes.

The one-hour series is scheduled for a first-season run of 22 episodes. Promotional material for the series describes it by saying "Get ready for a fantastic thrill ride with private investigator Vicki Nelson, who joins forces with a 450-year-old vampire to solve supernatural crimes. When sparks fly between the unlikely pair, Vicki is torn between her new fanged friend and her former colleague and lover."
