Sharon Lee and Steve Miller have created a universe that grabs and keeps fans coming back for more. Over the past decade, they've written a lot of Liaden Universe stories, and now the entire oeuvre is available in two omnibus electronic volumes.
Baen Books' Webscriptions started offering the first megavolume on 14 February. The first five-book collection, Korval's Legacy, includes the novels Conflict of Honors, Agent of Change, Carpe Diem, Plan B, and Local Custom, as well as a new introduction by the authors. It's available for $20. Volume 2, Phase Change, will be released on 15 March, and will contain Scout's Progress, I Dare, Crystal Soldier, Crystal Dragon, and Balance of Trade, along with another a new introduction by the authors.
Three months after publication, the e-volumes will "dissolve," and each individual Liaden ebook title will be available for $5 each.
The authors provide this incredibly brief description of the series, for the uninitiated: "Across a fallen galaxy, the Liadens have risen to take on the challenge of bringing trade and civilization to the stars and, in the process, made themselves the aristocrats of known space.
